About me

Like a lot of full time mums, there came a day when my little girl started pre-school. I found that I had an extra 3 or 4 hours to myself each day. I didn’t want to go back to my previous career anymore but I did want to earn some extra money for myself and my family. I specifically wanted to work from home but more importantly, choose the hours that I would work. A friend introduced me to Usborne Books and I joined in August 2003. My reasons for joining were;

Home partyWith support from my Team Leader I began selling Usborne books. I easily made a minimum order at my 1st event and that was the start of my career with Usborne. I started off slowly, as I was still quite busy at home. The Christmas Season went well and I could see how much children and their parents loved Usborne books. During the 2004 Usborne Summer Gala I realised that I really wanted to succeed and make a successful business. I went on Usborne training seminars, and learnt so much about how to make contacts and how to get the best out of my new career. The winter seasons have been extremely busy. I have had a lot of support from my husband, who has always encouraged me.

Summer EventThe past 2 years have continued to go very well. I am now selling books regularly in schools, playgroups and toddler groups. I was promoted to team leader and I am enjoying working with my team. I am a different person since joining Usborne. I have made many new friends. My daughter has a lot of fun reading the books and coming with me to Fetes and fairs and I am earning an income which has given me a great feeling of achievement and renewed self-confidence. Since joining Usborne I have always been able to work at a pace which suits me and my family. I have had support throughout from my team leader and group executive, as well as everyone who I deal with at Usborne.
